Enhanced Drivers License (EDL) in US English, Enhanced Driver's Licence in Canadian English, or Enhanced ID in other common usage, is a card which functions both as driving licence and ID card with limited passport features issued in some states and provinces in the United States and Canada〔(【引用サイトリンク】title= Your guide to British Columbia’s enhanced driver’s licence program )〕 to people who are both citizens of the country and resident in the relevant region, compliant with the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative as well as the US REAL ID Act. It can be used as an alternative to a passport for international land and sea, but not air, travel to countries that recognise it. The card includes machine-readable RFID and barcode for automated identification of the card and its holder. , an EDL has been available to U.S. citizens resident in the states of Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Vermont, and Washington, and to Canadian citizens resident in British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec.〔 After running it for five years, Quebec has discontinued the EDL program, citing low demand as the reason. Current EDL (Driver's Licence Plus) IDs will remain valid until their expiry. Driver's Licence Plus will not be issued after 30 September 2014.〔(【引用サイトリンク】website=Saaq.gouv.gc.ca )〕 ==See also== * FAST CARD * NEXUS * SENTRI 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Enhanced Drivers License」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
